Amely Maheu

Clinic Director

Being a bit uncertain about her choice of studies, Amély discovered her passion for veterinary medicine by exploring the programs at Cégep de Sherbrooke where she saw the animal health technology program, which gave her the idea to enroll. She did not know anything about this profession, and having always had a family dog, she thought she would probably enjoy the field!

She hesitated for a long time between small and large animals, finding it impossible to choose. Although the clinic only treats small animals, she will always have a hidden love for large animal medicine.

Before becoming a director, she worked as a technician for a few years. What she loved most was the relationship with clients, helping them better understand their pets and guiding them in their choices. She was very passionate about medicine and always wanted to learn more!

What she appreciates most about her role is always finding the best solution to make her team happy and efficient. She loves the mix of human resources and clinic profitability management!

Amély has always had a great love for children’s films, which she finds light and comforting. She has a beautiful long-haired German Shepherd named Louis, who came from the Netherlands. Although he was supposed to be a breeding male, he was neutered due to health issues (yes, a true Animal Health Technician dog!).

Amély often jokes about him coming from a working line, but if you met Louis, you would quickly understand that he wouldn’t have passed police school, a true Rantanplan!

She also has two cats: Bud, a rescue, and Oscar, whom they adopted from the Cégep. Both are also a bit quirky, but very dear to her heart!
